Spring Is Here!

Yesterday was the first day it felt like it was actually spring! I actually went outside and started working on my little garden planting peas and lettuce. I got 1/4 of the garden all dug up, cleaned out, and planted but there's a long way to go. It was great being able to sit out in the sunshine with Rigby, and true to form, Tinkerbell and Josie cats were right on top of me trying to help me dig in the dirt. After working for a couple of hours I was getting thirsty, so I decided to try out a recipe I found on one of my hunts for sugar free drinks. The process took a bit longer than I anticipated, so I just settled for drinking water while I started making this delicious lavender lemonade.

When I saw that our lavender bush had flowers on it I was so excited! I've been waiting and watching just so I could try out this recipe. I was really intrigued by the idea of adding lavender to a drink, and the fact that it was sweetened with stevia meant I could drink it without cheating on my no sugar/artificial sweetener thing!

Today I put the lavender tea together with the lemons and sparkling water and was able to enjoy a big, cold glass of it. It was DELICIOUS!! It has just the slightest floral hint and isn't overly sweet, and the bubbles just make it perfection and something I can (and will) drink all day long! It was still sunny and beautiful today, but a bit cooler than yesterday so I didn't bring the lemonade outside to enjoy, but it's going to be a regular summer staple from now on.
